I Fu Hotel

The I Fu Hotel is one of the newest hotels in Macau, having opened in 2018. Free Wi-Fi in designated areas is available at this property. The hotel is conveniently located a short 4km drive from Heliport. The hotel is just 700m from Ruins of St. Paul's Cathedral and 3km from Macau Tower, making it an ideal location for guests looking to do some sightseeing. When guests have some time on their hands they can make use of the onsite facilities. This hotel is particularly popular with those traveling with friends. The I Fu Hotel is one of the top accommodation choices in Macau.

IFU is a modern 2-star property that opened along Rua do Bispo Enes street in the Macau Peninsula in 2018 that offers pretty good, basic accommodations in the area around 6-7 minutes walk north of the World Heritage area.

The property is just one block away from the Ponte 16 Resort and bus stop for major routes running throughout Macau. You can walk to the Ruins of St. Paul's and Senado Square in no more than 10 minutes from here. A few simple restaurants and eateries are in the area, a supermarket two blocks away on Rua de Cinco de Outubro and Circle K convenience shop on the other side or Ponte 16 Resort, 3-4 minutes walk from this hotel.

My reservation was made through booking.com which was offering best rates at the time of booking. They were rather full up during my stay so early check-in wasn't possible. However, they will keep your luggage for you. My eventual check-in took just a few minutes and I was on on way to my room.

Lobby area is fair sized for this type and category of property. They have a few seats for you to lounge, tourist maps and attraction information available for guests. There is a feature restaurant that is situated in the hotel basement as well. Security guard is on duty pretty much all hours, they check temperatures of all guests entering (my stay was during the Coronavirus outbreak) and staff were overall very polite and helpful during my two day stay.

As for my room, the space and size of the unit was fair, furnishing still in very good condition, mostly seemed new. Bed mattress was very firm and pillow just ok. You may want to bring your own if you are particular about pillow types. Curtains blocked out all light and rooms were very quiet, something you don't always find with the 2 star properties. There was flat-screen TV with mostly Chinese channels. I believe I found two English language channels.

There was a small wall table space and chair, kettle and tea packs (no coffee). Free water provided. Room A/C and lighting worked fine. Wifi was really slow at times. Bathroom was tightly configured. Shower worked just fine. There was no room service provided during my stay.

Overall, this is a good option in the 2 star property range if the prices are reasonable. Do have a look around before booking however, as it has often been the case that fellow 2-3 star places like Hotel S (5 minutes away) and Caravel Hotel (1 minute walk) have been available at even cheaper prices. Otherwise, IFU isn't a bad choice if you are looking for more basic accommodation options on the Peninsula.
